Community Outreach Project

Santa Clara County Fair

The fair is right around the corner. Caren would like your ideas and input about projects we can stitch with the kids.

Stitching for Literacy

Celebrate reading and stitching! Join participating independent needlework shops, guild, and Web communities, and stitch a bookmark that will be donated to a library or school during Children's Book Week to reward reading accomplishments.

You can find more information at:
Needle and ThREAD and EGA's bookmark challenge

For anyone who would like to stitch bookmarks for the Stitching for Literacy Challenge, there is a library in Alviso that would greatly appreciate receiving them. They can use them for their summer reading program and also for the homework center next door at the Youth Center. Dorita will collect completed bookmarks at any meeting.

Cole's Quilts
